With the support from the Environmental Protection Department, WWF will extend the "Climateers Ambassador Experiential Programme" to participants from Sai Kung District and Wan Chai District in 2011. Through this programme, we hope to bring together all climate-concerned residents in these two districts. Participants will learn about effective methods of reducing carbon emissions in everyday life and put these useful tips into action. A better understanding of two different districts’ carbon footprints and carbon reduction patterns can thus be derived from the programme.

Through the programme, participants can use the online carbon calculator, tailor-made by WWF for Hong Kong people to track their carbon footprints and estimate their carbon emissions. Participants can also explore the potential impact of climate change on Hong Kong’s nature conservation areas – Mai Po Nature Reserve and precious biodiversity. They can live what they have learned, encourage their family and friends to adopt a low carbon lifestyle and lead carbon reduction initiatives in the community. By becoming Climateers Ambassadors, they are the force to help us build a low carbon network in Hong Kong so that we can tackle climate change together!
