"We've been using "Ecover" for a while... it feels good," says Chi Chung. Unlike eco-friendly detergents, conventional dishwashing liquids cannot be broken down when they are washed back out into out environment, leaving harmful residues for animals to choke on. Apart from dishwashing detergents, there are other eco-substitutes for household cleaning products like laundry powder and cleaners. Many household cleaners are full of volatile organic compounds that play a part in our city's air pollution.
